Educational tours of the Environmental Education Center are available, along with hands-on correlated activities upon request.
Tour length: 30 - 45 minutes (varies by participant ages)
Group size: 15 person minimum; 30 person maximum
Cost: $5 per participant

The City of Plano's Environmental Education Center (EEC) has the distinction of being Plano's first LEED Platinum Building certified by the U.S. Green Building Council. Built in 2010, the EEC and its surrounding area provide a learning space for Grades 3-12 on a variety of sustainable practices including building design, energy systems, water conservation, green building, recycling, composting, and many others. Features include a living roof, recycled/reused materials, solar panels, a wind turbine, a rainwater cistern, dual-flush toilets, drip irrigation, interactive displays, gardens featuring native and adapted plants, and much more.
